A range of natural and coloured full grain, veg tan and suede are available in store. If you are unsure which type of leather is most suitable for your project, we can advise you.

Full-grain leather is characterized by its luxurious, smooth surface and it has few, if any, flaws. It is the most popular type of leather. It has not been snuffed, sanded, or buffed to remove any natural marks or imperfections from its surface.

Vegetable tanned leather (commonly referred to a veg tan) refers to the tannage, or method of tanning the cowhide into leather. It’s called “vegetable” because of the natural materials used in the tanning process like tree bark.

Suede leather has a unique feel and look among leather types. It’s the soft and fuzzy underside of hide. The suede material is made by turning leather upside down so this fuzzy side is face up

Cotton and wax thread

Waxed thread is regular thread with a coat of wax. Waxing makes the thread stiffer, more water and mildew resistant, and less stretchy. It is typically hand sewing by crafters because they want the stitches to stand out or become a focal point. Using a heavier thread size achieves this goal because stitch visibility increases with thread size. A variety of colours are available in store.

The round holes used for looping shoe laces through are called eyelets. Larger eyelets are used to make holes in curtains where the curtain rod slides through. They can also be purely decorative. A Variety of sizes and styles are available in store.
